Feb. 25th 2012 is when I first saw Rambler's Gallant Lady, a 17yr old Missouri Fox Trotter mare. When they unloaded Lady from the trailer and I got my first look at her, I thought to myself, oh my goodness what have I gone and done now..lol  She was underweight and seemed to be depressed and very little light shown in her eyes...

3/2/2012 update: Lady and I on our first outing together. Lady has been with us for over a week now and she has gained a little weight and this is our first outing to start working on building back some muscle. Our first trip was only about 2 miles and we stopped and took a break as we didn't want to over do it on our first trip out.. Lady did very well and I was pleasantly pleased with what a wonderful riding horse she seems to be, she crossed over logs and went through water without hesitation and traffic and dogs running up and barking didn't phase her. I think once she gets back to being at a good weight and has built back more muscle we are going to enjoy making and sharing many wonderful memories together!!

Below is a picture of Lady after being with us almost a month.. Lady has put on some weight and we have been working a little with her on building back muscle, but even with her heavy winter coat you can still see her ribs and her top line and you can see that she has hardly any muscle..It is just going to be a slow process of building her back up, but I am looking forward to spending the time with her to get her built back up and to us making many wonderful memories together!

Lady has been such a blessing and after only being with me for about 5 1/2 months she has completely stollen my heart. She has her quirks but I truly love this mare. She has given me so many wonderful memories in such a short time, she is truly my blessing.
