10/10/2009: Emma is a 28 year old MFT mare who just sort of fell into our lap. Emma is a sweet and loving horse who doesn't act like she is 28yrs old,she has the love of life and spunk of a much younger horse. Emma is a loving and sweet horse and she is sooo appreciative of everything you do for her. She has stolen the hearts of us all.
10/14/2009: Mom and I took Emma to the vet today and other than being skinny and in need of groceries, thankfully she got a clean bill of health. We look forward to loving and caring for Emma and to making sure the rest of her years happy.
10/17/2009 Emma with my Mom.
The bond between these two is getting strong.

Me and Emma with Gabby sneaking into the picture :-)
Gabby didn't want to be left out and she just had to get in the picture :-)
11/4/2009 Today I was so blessed. My mom came out and spent the day with me, Emma and the other horses. We had a wonderful time and I am so thankful to have this wonderful memory to add to my many other wonderful memories with my mom.
After we worked with Skye mom saddled Emma up and rode her two rounds in the round pen. I don't know who seemed happier, Mom or Emma.
It is such a blessing watching the joy and happiness these two enjoy together. They are truly a match from Heaven.

11/4/2009 Emma is doing good on gaining weight. It's hard for me to see just how much she has gained until I look at her first pictures and then I looked at her pictures from today. I pray she will continue to gain weight and be at an even better weight before winter gets here.
12/14/2009 Emma is doing soooo good on gaining weight. I was really worried about if I was going to be able to get enough weight on her, with her age, for the winter. The Lord above has truly answered my prayers and guided me on helping Emma. I know that without the Lord guiding me, and without my mother's commitment to Emma, I would never have been able to accomplish her weight gain. I am sooo thankful and feel so honored and blessed to have been entrusted to care for this magnificant animal. I sometimes feel so unworthy of the blessings God has bestowed upon me, but I am so thankful to God to have not only his love, but the love of all these wonderful animals..
Emma is really doing good. She gave me a scare the other day when she twisted her ankle in the mud, but she is doing fine now. Emma is not only doing good on her weight gain, but she is also starting to build muscle back. YEAH!!!!
In this picture Gabby was being a little pesty :-) and Emma wasn't to happy with her :-)..
3/1/2010: Emma is doing so good and she is holding her weight good during the cold weather we have been having. I look forward to seeing how she does with her weight once the grass starts coming in. I got tickled at Emma yesterday when we moved the horses into the other pasture she was feeling frisky and started running and trying to kick up her heels...LOL nothing like seeing a 29yr old gaited mare with worn out joints trying to run and buck...it is good for the soul to see and it is definately something that will make you smile :-). I will post updated pictures of Emma as soon as I can.
3/10/2010: Updated picture of Emma. She has done so good on her weight.
3/22/2010: Emma went to the vet today for her yearly check up and she passed with flying colors. She got her coggins and vaccinations done and she was wormed with Quest Plus. She is shedding off now and I'm sure the birds are loving it..lol everytime I brush her there is enough hair on the ground to make a blanket..
I will try and post pictures later today of Emma now that she is shedding off.

7/8/2010: It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Miss Emma was laid to rest today. She will be sorely missed by those of us left behind who loved her, but I know that my Momma is in Heaven awaiting her Emma to join her.
