Barb's Horse Jake has been staying with us while Barb is doing some fence repairs. Jake is such a good boy..
8/5/2010: Jake had been feeling left out and Rambo was having one of his not wanting to be caught days so the girls got Jake out and they rode Kodi and Jake around the side yard for a little bit, Jake seemed really happy to be out riding with the girls.
Doc is a beautiful paint gelding that belongs to my best friend Barb.
When Barb got Doc his feet were in horrible shape. Barb, and her wonderful farriers, have worked hard and tirelessly to get his feet healed. He still has a ways to go, but he has come leaps and bounds under her wonderful care.
We are babysitting Doc and continuting with the routine to care for Doc's feet while Barb has been taking care of her mom after she had shoulder surgery.
Doc loves attention and he loves having a job. You can tell everytime we take Kodi out for riding he wants to go. so every once in a while we will put the pony saddle on Doc and lead our Grandson around on him in the pasture. We know that Sagan isn't heavy enough to hurt him and it seems to make Doc happy, it definately makes Sagan Happy :-)
Sagan has fallen in love with Doc and everytime he comes over he wants to go see Doc :-).

Doc is such a good horse. Notice how when Sagan starts to reach for his dad Doc comes to a stop.. He is such a joy to be around and we feel blessed and honored to spend this time with him.

Kodi and Gabby, and Doc is trying to hide in the tree line...lol Our newest rescue, Angel, who was just out of frame, was trying to establish herself in the herd and Doc didn't want any part of it so he was hiding out...lol
9/11/2009. It is a bitter sweet day, Angel went to a loving new home today, and Doc went back home to Barb's house today. We will miss Doc a lot. He is such a loving and good boy. I know that Barb is glad to have her boy back home, but we will sure miss him :-)...
2/28/2010: We went by Barb's house today and got to visit with her and Doc. Doc is doing so good and he is just about ready to hit the trails. Barb has done such a tremendous job with Doc and his feet.
3/1/2010: Doc is fat as a hog and just as happy :-).. I know Barb is just as anxious to hit the trails on her wonderful boy as we are.
