8-15-2010: We would like to welcome our new boy Cash.
Our new boy is a 2yr old gelding who we purchased at the sale barn. He was ridden through the arena by a man weighing about 200 or so pounds. After no one bidding on him the auctioneer said won't anyone take this horse for 50 dollars, there was total silence in the stands.it was as if no one wanted to give this baby a chance at having a future, so needless to say we brought him home. I know with God's guidance we will be able to watch him flourish into a beautiful animal with a bright future.
It never ceases to amaze me how loving and trusting these animals are even after being so neglected and mistreated..
this is the sweetest most willing boy and he is so good with everything we have done, he has even been a good boy for getting his antibiotic shots and we all know it's no fun getting shots :-(...
This poor baby is covered in rain rot and ticks, this picture was taken after I had brushed him down. You can see where the hair was actually coming off just from me brushing him :-(...
It's hard to believe that this baby was being ridden in this horrible condition!
while I was picking ticks off this babies legs and brushing his legs down the hair just started coming off with the brush, there was so much dirt and grime all over this poor babies body :-(,
most of the bumps in this picture of his back legs are ticks :-(...
This poor baby has scars on his head as well as ticks everywhere :-(
8/20/2010: Cash is starting to gain weight and his rain rot is almost completely gone? He is such a loving boy and he wants to please. It never ceases to amaze me how gracious these animals are even after being treated so horribly..

8/24/2010: Well Cash has started his new life with his new forever family! Cash has been adopted by a wonderful couple. He will be in a home where he will get lots of care, attention and love!
10-25-2010: Well I am sad to report that Cash is now back with us.
I understand that situations change and things happen, but I will NEVER understand how people can make the animals suffer and pay for something that is not their fault!!!
Here are some pictures of Cash that were taken of him once we got him back home!
I just noticed the date on my daughters camera was wrong. The date these pictures were taken was 10-25-2010. Will get more pictures with the correct date on them..
10-26-2010: More detailed pictures of Cash taken today and with the correct date on the pictures...
Update: 12/28/2010: Cash is slowly starting to put weight back on. It has been a slow process as his poor little body was so run down, but I am proud to say he is finally putting some weight on. I am also proud to say that he is finally starting to feel like a young horse should. The other day Cash and Kodi got to running around playing and bucking. It did my heart good to see him enjoying being a young horse.
2-28-2011 Update: Cash is doing great and has done really good on gaining weight, he doesn't even look like the same horse that first came in. I am looking forward to getting started on working with him under saddle this spring.
July 2011 Update: Cash is doing great and has really grown. It has been so terribly hot that we haven't worked with Cash very much. Cash is such a sweet boy and he tries so hard to please. He really loves his attention and he is always there for a loving pet and a scratch. He loves his bathes, especially during this hot weather. My daughter Jessica has gotten Cash out a few times and rode him around bareback and he did great, she has even rode him in an english and a western saddle and he did very well with both. I am really hoping to take him out on a few trail rides this fall when things cool off. I will post updated pictures of Cash soon.
August 9th, 2011, updated pictures of Cash:
Update: 10/1/2011: Cash is doing great and has really turned into a beautiful and sweet boy. He is such a joy to work with. My daughter Jessica hopped on Cash today while I hopped on Kodi and we rode the boys around bareback in the pasture. Cash did so good we decided to saddle the boys up and take them for a little ride down the road. This was Cash's first outing and he did awesome! I am so proud of him and how well he is doing. Below: Cash standing like a good boy while Jessica mounts him from the ground.
